1. From Dec.1, 2008, 3770 products export duty will be adjusted, steel products like hot/cold rolled steel sheets, Steel Stripes, Steel Wires, large structural steel, alloy steel products, welded steel pipe will be adjusted as free duty.

2. More specifically in steel industry, all hot-rolled sheets/board, hot-rolled medium/heavy plate, large structural steel (includes large H steel), majority of steel wires, partial welded pipe, partial alloy steel plate, alloy steel narrow strip, and alloy steel bars are now free duty. 200 series of stainless steel, threads, wires, bars, medium/small structural steel, and non-coated steel wire remain the original export duty.

     3. From the point of specific products, hot-rolled sheets/plates, high thickness plate, heavy plate, medium plage and coated steel wire are imposed 5% export duty; large structural steel is 10% export duty. Cold-rolled narrow strip steel, tin plate, and steel pipe are 15%. Adjustment haven't covered high-end cold rolled, coated, electrical plate and other high-end steel products. More adjustment will be issued if the exporting situation is getting worse.

4. China is currently imposed 10-15% duty for the extra length steel, and impose 5% duty for hot-rolled steel.
